A Rat Crafting Table is a vital part of the mod and is a requirement for crafting many of the extra items, and can be fully automated by rats.
A Rat Crafting Table requires a player-tamed Rat with a Rat Upgrade: Crafting on top of the Rat Crafting Table to function. A tamed rat without the proper upgrade equipped will not activate the table. A Rat with a Rat Upgrade: Crafting as well as other upgrades will still activate the table.
Crafting[]
The table requires 8 Blocks of Cheese and a vanilla Crafting Table to craft.
Interface[]
Note: The above image is not 1.19.4. 1.19.4 includes a slot where you can assemble the items to be made.
- Rat indicator; an X will be shown if there is no rat on top and a checkmark will be shown if a rat with a Rat Upgrade: Crafting upgrade is on top of the table.
- The item to craft; placing an item in this slot will not take the item but will set the item you want to craft.
- The output slot. If you attach a hopper underneath the table, you can take the items from the output slot and place them elsewhere.
- Required items. These are the items necessary for the rat to craft the items
- Input slots. This is where you place the materials the rat will use to craft the items. These will run out with time, and need to be replaced.
To keep a rat in place on the table, there is a couple of methods you can use.
One method is right-clicking the rat, setting it's position to "stay here," and then nudging it by bumping into it, and onto a rat crafting table that is built into the ground. This method works well if you do not have many materials.
The other method is to put a cage on top of the rat crafting table, and then picking up your rat and right-clicking the cage with an empty hand slot. This will place the rat in the cage, therefore activating the rat crafting table. You can then attach hoppers and chests underneath it to automatically collect the finished items. You can also extend your cages by attaching more, and release another rat in it with a rat breeding lamp, and so breeding your rats.
A fully automated rat crafting table can be very useful for crafting more basic materials, such as turning logs into their counterparts, especially when you don't have time to make them yourself. Attaching this system to a breeding cage also allows for easy rat breeding.
